About Stefanie Strauch

Stefanie Susanna Strauch, born on 17 December 1958 in Merzig.

After studying visual communication in Trier, I worked as a designer in the tableware department at Villeroy & Boch from 1986 to 2019.

During this time, I created more than 40 tableware designs that went into production, 

including bestsellers such as AMAZONIA, FRENCH GARDEN and PASADENA.

Since ! September 2019, I have been working freelance to devote myself primarily to my passion, realistic oil painting.

I find my inspiration in my garden at home, but also on my many trips to distant countries with their colours and traditions.

I also find a wealth of motifs in the pastures in my neighbourhood. Farm animals lose their status as objects with a number and become personalities with names and ear jewellery.

Painting is meditation, a complete immersion in another world.

I immerse myself completely in the world of colour, I encounter nature in all its colour variations.

The view changes more and more, every little thing is noticed, every nuance is recognised... nature in all its beauty.
